Liposuction is a surgical means of reducing fat volume from a given area of the body. The more common areas are the submental (below the chin), lateral chest, abdomen, thighs and gluteal region. The procedure is outpatient and requires compression postoperative for 1-2 weeks. Patients resume usual activities within a week. Liposuction is a highly efficacious, and targeted means of reducing fat volume with little down-time.
